LA architects, working with residential specialists Child Graddon Lewis, have been selected to design a new community leisure facility with social housing for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The project will replace the existing St George's Leisure Centre in Wapping and represents a significant regeneration opportunity, delivering much-needed public facilities to the Borough.
The new development will provide a sports, health and wellbeing hub, together with family-orientated affordable homes, both tailored to meet the needs of the local community. The project includes major improvements to the surrounding public realm, with upgrades to the adjacent St-Georges-in-the-East Church Gardens and the restoration of a former mortuary building to provide further community space.
